Ahmeti Announces Kosovo Elections for October 6

The political parties in Kosovo are in agreement that early parliamentary elections should be held on October 6, stated leader of the Social Democratic Party Shpend Ahmeti, Pristina media reported on Monday.

Ahmeti pointed out that there are two possible dates for holding the elections if Parliament is disbanded on August 22: the first date is September 29, and the other is October 6.

It seems that everyone is ready for the elections to be held on October 6, said Ahmeti after meeting with the leader of the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo (LDK) Isa Mustafa, in Pristina.

Ahmeti pointed out that he is convinced that everyone will be present on August 22 for the vote on disbanding Parliament, which would pave the path for elections.

When asked whether his party would be joining an election coalition with the LDK, Ahmeti said that it is interested in running alone “depending on other circumstances.”
