Albania: 467 COVID-19 cases; 232 healed patients; 24 deaths

The number of cases testing positive to COVID-19 went up to 467 on Monday, the Ministry of Health and Social Care informed. A total of 15 patients were cured between Sunday and Monday bringing the total number of recoveries to 232. The death toll climbed at 24 with the death of a 68-year-old woman from Tirana on Monday late afternoon.

She suffered from renal insufficiency. As announced by the Health Ministry, a total of 4,070 COVID-19 tests have been performed so far. Talking to reporters on Monday, former Democratic Party MP Bardh Spahia reiterated the DP appeal for widespread COVID-19 tests for Albanian citizens. He said that in many countries around the world, testing has guaranteed the successful management of the COVID-19 outbreak. 

In related news, as confirmed by Health Minister Orgerta Manastirliu, some eight tonnes of personal protective gear for doctors and nurses arrived on Monday and will be distributed to hospitals across the country.
