President of the Republic Ilir Meta considered as alarming and dramatic the mass departure of Albanian people from the country. He said that the country’s depopulation required a pan-national solution with the involvement of all societal stakeholders.

He said that the politicians should work hard and in a responsible way to create the conditions for the Albanian youth to build their future in their own country. “Now more than ever the Albanian people need real and transparent dialogue with each and every one of them.

They want their voice to be heard, to have free elections and free speech, and also to be active and key factors in the defense of Constitution and democracy and in the country’s decision-making processes. They deserve better living standards and a stronger economy that produces prosperity for all,” Meta said. He made these remarks at an event held at the Lady of Good Counsel University aimed at reading the Message of Pope Francis for the celebration of the 53rd World Day of Peace.
