Dacic Does not Repent: I Will not Turn the Other Cheek to Citaku

After insulting Kosovo ambassador to US Vlora Citaku, on UN SC session on Tuesday, Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Thursday that he is “prepared to face the consequences”.

Annoyed by the dubious claim of Citaku during the debate that the Serbs had, at the time, “colonized” Kosovo, and that it was now in the process of “decolonization”, upon leaving the hall, while she was speaking with the representatives of the US and Great Britain, he addressed her in Serbian: “You know who the colonizer is? Well, you are sitting with them! Colonization, well that is the biggest stupidity in the world”.

“I reacted as any honorable man would to a lie,” Dacic told the pro-regime TV Pink, on Thursday morning.

Dacic added that he behaves diplomatically towards diplomats but that “if someone lies, I will not turn the other cheek”.

“If someone throws a stone at me, I won’t toss a flower. I might, but that flower will be in a flowerpot,” Dacic said.
