The British police have carried out an operation against the Albanian gangs that lead the cannabis gangs.

As a result of the operation, 53 people were arrested.

Manchester Police say the rise of cannabis and serious crime are completely linked, with profits being used to fuel even more crime and exploitation of people.

In a month-long national operation, 10,000 cannabis plants worth around £9 million were seized.

Foreign media write that 53 people were arrested from the police operation, mainly for the cultivation of cannabis and the illegal connection of electricity, but also a number of other offenses, including money laundering, possession for the purpose of supply and possession of weapons.

The operation involved 43 police forces across England and Wales.
