Annexation of Ukrainian territories, G7 ministers warn of additional economic costs for Russia
The G7 foreign ministers of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States and the High Representative of the European Union said on Friday that they will impose additional economic costs on Russia for annexing Ukrainian territories.
The G7 foreign ministers condemned "in the strongest possible terms Russia's aggression against Ukraine and the ongoing violations of Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence," they said in a joint statement.
"We will never recognize these supposed annexations, nor the fake 'referendums' carried out with guns," they said.
"We will impose further economic costs on Russia, and on individuals and entities - inside and outside Russia - that provide political or economic support for these violations of international law," they said.
