Two assassinations in a few weeks, Trump blames Biden and Harris for inciting hatred
Former President Donald Trump has blamed President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for their 'rhetoric', which he says fueled the second failed assassination attempt against him.
The former president spoke to Fox News on Monday, a day after a gunman tried to shoot him on his golf course in Palm Beach, Florida.
Trump said the would-be assassin believed the rhetoric of his political rivals.
"He believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris and he acted on it," Trump said of the gunman.
"Their rhetoric is getting me fired up, when I'm the one who's going to save the country, and they're the ones who are destroying the country — both internally and externally," Trump continued.
The Republican presidential candidate pointed to comments by Biden and Harris accusing him of being a "threat to democracy" and claimed they are "people who want to destroy the country."
