Germany on alert from Russia's eavesdropping inside the army!

Germany said on Saturday it had launched an investigation into a suspected wiretapping, after Moscow said a recording of a German officer showed him discussing arms for Ukraine and possible attacks from Kiev on a bridge in Crimea.

A spokesman for Germany's Defense Ministry said on Saturday that the Federal Office of Military Counterintelligence was investigating what appeared to be a case of wiretapping and whether there was a possibility that the recording had been modified.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, speaking during a visit to Rome, called the possible leak "very serious" and said that "the matter is now being examined very carefully."

Margarita Simonyan, a journalist for Russian state television and host of the Russia Today channel, posted the audio on her profile on the Telegram social network and said that in the audio, German officers are heard "discussing how to hit the Crimean bridge", which connects Russia with the Ukrainian peninsula that Moscow annexed in 2014.

Reuters heard the 38-minute recording but could not independently confirm its authenticity.
