Tragedy in Turkey/ Fire in a hotel in Kartalkaya, 10 dead and 32 injured

A devastating fire has engulfed a hotel in the Kartalkaya ski resort, in the Bolu province of northwestern Turkey, leaving behind a tragic toll of at least 10 dead and 32 injured.

The serious incident occurred today at 03:27 in the morning, as confirmed by the minister through an announcement on the X platform.

"Unfortunately, the death toll has reached ten and the number of injured has reached 32," the minister declared.

According to Bolu Governor Abdulaziz Aydin, the fire broke out on the fourth floor of the 11-story hotel and spread quickly, including the roof and upper floors. Firefighters are still working to fully extinguish the flames.

There were 234 guests in the hotel at the time of the fire. The governor confirmed that the cause of the fire remains unknown, while authorities have launched an investigation to clarify the circumstances.

Footage broadcast by local media, including TRT, shows dramatic scenes of flames engulfing the upper part of the building. Authorities are calling for caution and solidarity in dealing with this tragedy.
