A fire that broke out in a school dormitory in central Kenya, caused the death of 17 minor boys. The children were sleeping when the fire broke out in the school dormitory in the early hours of Friday.

"We saw some children there who were burnt. I was just lucky to save one of them, but I heard that he died later. It was a very disturbing and sad tragedy, " Phillip Gathogo, a local resident, told reporters .

The fire broke out at Endarasha Hillside Academy in Nyeri, a boarding primary school for young students about 150 km (93 miles) from the capital Nairobi.
