Immigrants, Rama talks about the conversation with Sunak: He called me himself
Prime Minister Edi Rama has shared the conversation he had with his British counterpart Rishi Sunak on the issue of immigrants.
He said that it was Sunak himself who called him, where he said that he was sorry for the statements made by Minister Suela Braverman about immigrants. Braverman called the Albanians "criminals" and "invaders".
He further added that they talked about plans to curb illegal immigrants. Rama also hopes for a visit of Sunak in Tirana.
"I had a rather short discussion, he asked me himself, he expressed his regret for what happened because of the thoughtless statements in relation to the Albanians and we discussed this issue and not only that, there was nothing new, only to join forces more on how to effectively combat trafficking networks that exploit people's need to leave and connections, we know very well that immigration to the UK is closely linked to the fundamentals of created by a family member, to develop this activity, I have repeated it, I have told him that for as long as this is the right way, but no one has done anything, but I don't know why it hasn't been done. I say that this is the right way, let's see that the British are more active and will not be remembered only when there are televised events.", Rama said.
