Summit with diaspora doctors, Manastirliu: Contribute to build a new model with the hospital of Fier
The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu and the Minister of State for the Diaspora, Pandeli Majko have praised the contribution of health professionals in the Diaspora, in the Summit that was held today virtually.
While thanking the doctors for their work during this unpredictable year, Minister Manastirliu said that the government has set special bonuses for doctors and nurses, to support them in the fight against Covid-19 ".
"I want to thank all the doctors everywhere, inside and outside the country for the role they have played over the most challenging year in the last 100 years. I want to thank the diaspora doctors for their contribution not only to the information about the public through the media, but also for collaborating to improve medical protocols.
The historic salary increase, concretized this year with 40% and in total in these 8 years with 57% salary increase throughout the country, at all levels, from primary to tertiary is a promise kept for health professionals. Also, for all doctors who work in Albania and provide services outside the place of residence, the Government has allocated a special bonus of 2.5 million ALL plus salary.
It should be noted that during the pandemic, for all medical staff, doctors, nurses, support staff in Covid hospitals or where patients with Covid19 are served, the government has set a special bonus of 1 thousand euros for doctors and nurses and 500 euros for support staff, for to support doctors, nurses on the first front of the war against Covid19 " , said Manastirliu.
Speaking about the new way of hospital management, Manastirliu called on diaspora doctors to contribute to the creation of the new model of autonomy that is expected to start from the hospital that is being built in Fier.
"The Regional Memorial Hospital in Fier, which is being built with the help of Turkey, will be the first hospital to pilot hospital autonomy. The model that we will implement in the new hospital in Fier will be a milestone for changing the management of our hospitals. It will bring more increase in the quality of services for citizens, but also a new model for the evaluation of health personnel, through performance evaluation. So I want to call on all of you, diaspora doctors, to give your personal contribution to the creation of this new model. "Within two weeks, we will open the call for the recruitment of medical staff for this hospital, which will be managed by Turkish colleagues for a period, until the model is established", said Manastirliu.
