Bardhi holds official meetings in the British Parliament: Technical government needed for free elections
The Chairman of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, is conducting an official visit to Great Britain, where he held meetings with British MPs Martin Vickers and Stephen Gethins in the British Parliament.
During these meetings, Bardhi raised concerns about the need for a caretaker government that would ensure free and fair elections, addressing one of the key OSCE-ODIHR recommendations on prohibiting the use of the state in elections.
Bardhi also discussed the importance of strengthening the rule of law and building an independent justice system. He emphasized the phenomenon of mass emigration of Albanians, especially young people, due to the lack of economic opportunities and meritocracy.
Below is Gazment Bardhi's full reaction:
It was a pleasure to meet with MPs Martin Vickers and Stephen Gethins, friends of Albania and with an extraordinary contribution to strengthening relations between our two countries, during our visit to the British Parliament. Britain is an example of democracy and we have much to learn from them.
