Berisha: Conservationism in Albania has deeper roots, where thousands of sacrificed lives lie
The leader of the opposition, Sali Berisha, participated in the "Forum for the future of Albania - Conservative Way".
Berisha, in his live speech, said that conservationism in Albania has deep roots and thousands of lives have been sacrificed for it. Berisha said that a conservative fights and stands for his dignity.
"Conservationism in Albania, contrary to what is thought, has deeper roots, perhaps than in any other country. At its roots lie thousands and thousands of lives sacrificed for the basic fundamental values that conservatives share with each other for dignity and freedom, for country, for their faith, their religious faith, their love for their country.
In this context, despite the fact that Enver Hoxha's dictatorship was the only dictatorship of 3 or 4 times in Eastern Europe, once again the Albanians, a people of tradition, with the sacrifice made for these values, could not but embrace conservative positions after the overthrow of the dictatorship.
In case any of you would ask me what is for me, in a single word, for the individual, conservatism, I would choose; human dignity.
A conservative fights, defends, stands for his dignity. And the truth is that, if we imagined freedom as a multi-layered sphere, it would have human dignity at its core" , declared Berisha.
