Berisha holds 1 minute of silence for Bujar Bukoshi: He made a great contribution to the Kosovo issue and the Albanian issue

DP Chairman Sali Berisha held a minute of silence for the former Prime Minister of Kosovo, Bujar Bukoshi, who passed away today.

Berisha praised Bukoshi's contribution to Kosovo and Albania, saying that he is a patriotic intellectual and a capable diplomat.

Berisha: Sad news comes from Pristina. A prominent personality, an ardent patriot, a well-educated, dedicated statesman, the former first Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Prime Minister of the first government in exile of Kosovo, the closest, most intimate associate of President Rugova, Bujar Bukoshi passed away today.

Bujar Bukoshi made a major contribution to the national cause. Alongside President Rugova, he played a major role, first in organizing the parallel government of the oppressed Albanians in Kosovo, a government that finally separated them from the occupying state.

But Bujar Bukoshi, a patriotic intellectual and skilled diplomat, represented Kosovo in all institutions and chancelleries of independent countries.

She presented her case together with President Rugova and strongly supported the creation of the Kosovo Liberation Army at the right time.

It was precisely under the leadership of President Rugova and his government that the first units of this army were trained in various military centers in Albania.

The Ministry of Defense of this government organized the armed forces of the Kosovo government during the war, which fought jointly in various battles with KLA units.

Bujar Bukoshi did everything to ensure that during the war, the KLA and the Kosovo government's defense forces coordinated their actions and fighting.

So he made a great contribution to the Kosovo issue and to the Albanian issue.

On this occasion, I express to the people of Kosovo, the Bukoshi family, Mrs. Bukoshi and their children, my deepest condolences, those of the DP and the opposition.
