Berisha: If the DP won the 2013 elections, Albania would have opened

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, is convinced that if the Democratic Party won the 2013 elections, Albania would have opened negotiations would have been a long time.

Invited to 'Opinion', Berisha said that the events of '97 influenced the process compared to other countries in the region, when asked if he is responsible for Albania's refusal to open negotiations with the EU.

" I am not able to predict what the progress would have been if 97 had not happened. I can not say yes or no, but it affected without question.

In the PD government, the process went unstoppably. It has moved in a serious effort for the two sets of criteria, economics and functional democracy.

If the DP won 2013 with conviction, the negotiations would have been open for a long time, not membership, because what follows that process is based only on criteria.

Denying the criteria was not simple, but Rama put the country in a headless spiral that conditions were added every year.

Takes justice reform, became the main obstacle. For Germany, France, Spain it was not imagined to approach a country that did not have a constitutional court. You are obliged to anticipate the consequences of reforms. "I have told Rama, Donald Lu and Vlahuti 50 times about this process" , said Berisha.
