DP political leaders will not compete in the primaries, Noka reveals the reasons

DP political leaders will not compete in the primaries, Noka reveals the reasons

The Democratic Party will organize the primaries in the first week of March, after the official deadline for registering immigrants has closed, an important process that has received the main attention of the leadership. The Secretary General, Flamur Noka, did not provide many details on some important issues for the candidates' race in the primaries, but hinted that political leaders will not be part of the race.

He argued this with the need for the process to be led by someone impartial and without direct interests.

"The DP must have in each district a personality who must manage, lead, direct the campaign and engage in work for the party and not the individual to be elected themselves. Political leaders are prominent figures, proven in votes of confidence several times. They have faced challenges and won them, therefore the National Council will find a modality for this", - said the Secretary General of the DP in the show "Pa Censurë".

He added that the primaries are important to secure a place on the list, but no one can say until the last day what ratio the winning candidates of the primaries will have on the list with those who will be proposed by the party leadership for approval.

"The primaries are very important for the list and the regulations that will be distributed to the branches define all the steps. For Albanians, it is important that the DP leads them in overthrowing this drug regime and that the DP presents a dignified representative list, where every citizen can find themselves," said Noka.
