Gjekmarkaj: The October 7 protest exceeded civil disobedience
The vice president of the Democratic Party, Agron Gjekmarkaj, spoke about the action of the opposition.
Asked on MCN what happened to civil disobedience, Gjekmarkaj stated that the protest exceeded civil disobedience. He added that the opposition's action will continue after a pause, but said that different ways of civil disobedience are being considered.
Ylli Rakipi: Why does this civil disobedience not continue? That this can't be scheduled, Monday and Thursday, right?
Agron Gjekmarkaj: No one is a slave to forms and definitions. What happened in the opposition protest is more than civil disobedience, it is an expression of anger. In this respect, there is no disappointment. There was anger in the majority of the democrats, of the Albanians, against the undoing of the opposition, the attempt to destroy democracy in this country. It has exceeded the expectation of civil disobedience.
Ylli Rakipi: What do you mean by this?
Agron Gjekmarkaj: The protest was beyond civil disobedience. If you want to discuss the form, it seems that the right goes to your side. What I saw on the Boulevard gives me another option of the political developments of that day. The ways to carry out civil disobedience are endless and we will examine them. We will think next about form and intensity.
Ylli Rakipi: So you are saying that the protest gained large proportions and ran away from civil disobedience?
Agron Gjekmarkaj: I said it was beyond civil disobedience. It was a loud expression of anger.
