The Constitutional Court has accepted the request made by the gray group of the Parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, Gazmend Bardhi, for priority review of the unconstitutionality of the new law on Investigative Commissions.

In the decision of the Constitutional Court, it is stated that the issue will be discussed with priority in the session of May 27, 2024, at 10.00. Also, in the decision of the Constitutional Court, it is stated that the deadline for submitting submissions and any other material is until 06.05.2024.

"Following the communications, we inform you that on 23.04.2024 the Meeting of Judges of the Constitutional Court, after considering the request presented by the petitioners, not less than 1/5 of the deputies of the Assembly of Albania, for the acceleration of the review of the case, with object: "Repeal of law no. 106/2023 "On some additions and changes to the law no. 8891, dated 02.05.2002 "On the organization and operation of investigative commissions of the Assembly".

The suspension of the law no. 106/2023 "On some additions and changes to the law no. 8891, dated 02.05.2002 "On the organization and functioning of the Assembly"" decided to accept the request for acceleration, and the holding of the public plenary session on 27.05.2024, at 10:00 a.m.: 00.

On 23.04.2024, the Meeting of Judges, after considering the request submitted by the petitioners for the suspension of the law 106/2023, decided that the request for the suspension of the law will be considered in the public plenary session. Also, we emphasize that the deadline for submitting submissions and any other material is until 06.05.2024.

For the submission of claims in the plenary session, the available time is up to 20 minutes.

Regarding the presence at the public plenary session, we inform you that you must be present 10 minutes before the beginning of the plenary session," the announcement states.
