Fatmir Merkoçi, founder of the DP and candidate in the primaries within the Democratic Party for the Municipality of Tirana, says that if he is elected mayor of the capital, he will not support the LGBT community.
Invited to the show Opinion on TV Klan, Merkoçi has declared that he will not allow the LGBT flag to be waved in the Municipality of Tirana.
"What is the main thing, I will do that, if until today I have asked for the minimum vital individually and permanently, if I am mayor I will ask for it institutionally because I cannot accept that a citizen of my city receives 4 thousand old Lek assistance, and what is most important, since I belong to the conservative right, I will categorically not allow the LGBT flag to be waved or placed in the Municipality of Tirana.
I trust and pray to God, nation and family. I don't discuss these 3 things at all, everyone knows me and knows very well, whether left or right, that I am the most incorruptible person in this country. I don't step on the principles, I don't step on the grave of the ancestors, I don't step on my blood that I spilled in the middle of Tirana, I don't step on the sufferings and sacrifices of the people of Tirana ", he said.
