The President of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the US presidential elections.
In a post on Facebook, Meta writes that Trump's triumph is the message that the American nation gives to the world that democracy is in the hands of the citizens.
Meta emphasizes that the Freedom Party will remain engaged in strengthening the partnership between Albania and the USA.
"Heartiest congratulations, on behalf of myself and the Freedom Party, to you, the 47th President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, on this Great Victory and well-deserved and self-sacrificing return of your unstoppable battle for the protection of the values of the USA and the American friendly nation.
Your triumph is a precious message that the American nation gives to the world that the fate of democracy is only in the hands of the citizens and how expensive are the freedoms and basic human rights, democracy and pluralism, the rule of law and equality before the law even for the common citizen in the face of the challenging anti-value efforts and goals of local, regional and global actors.
The Freedom Party will always remain committed to further strengthening the bilateral Strategic Partnership in the field of security and in NATO and I believe that, under your leadership, we will strengthen these ties and further expand cooperation in all areas, in the interest of both countries and our friendly peoples" , writes Meta.
