Economic Program 2025-2029/ Berisha: We will do everything to return taxes to citizens

DP Chairman Sali Berisha said that the Democratic Party government will do everything to ensure that taxes are returned to citizens with services to them.

The opposition leader's statement was made during a speech given at the meeting to present the DP's economic program.

"If, last night in Munich, there was one person who most concretely matched what Vice President JD Vance talked about, it was Edi Rama.

He was there, as the prime minister who arrested the three opposition leaders, and put them on political trial. He was there, as the prime minister, whose courts had received mandates from elected officials. He was there as the censor who will shut down Tik Tok, simply because he cannot stand their criticism, the criticism of young people on Tik Tok.

I highlighted this moment to point out what a great responsibility we, the conservative democrats of Albania, have to change this situation and of course, if these are the evident expressions, the arrest of opposition leaders, the taking of mandates by the courts, the suffering, the violations of Albanian citizens because of the drug economy, because of the narco-euros, because of oligopolies, because of oligarchs, are greater than in any other country in Europe.

Look at Albania today. Albania has economic growth, while poverty deepens, while consumption does not increase in parallel with growth. Meanwhile, prices go into the stratosphere, salaries decrease in relation to them in a progressive manner.

No other nation in 10 years, never in history, whatever it has suffered, the fiercest wars, regional wars, world wars, has ever had 45% of its nation disappear in 12 years, as we disappeared, as we left. And this, for the most important reason, the difficult economic situation, the lack of perspective, progressive impoverishment.

Therefore, we will respond to the challenges first and foremost. Since we are in this field, by guaranteeing the economic freedom of Albanian citizens, by encouraging free initiative, by guaranteeing the law and the rule of law, without which there is no market economy. By guaranteeing fair competition, by implementing those principles that we have implemented.

Two years after our founding, we believed strongly in the principle of low taxes, and at that time we imposed the lowest taxes. We came back again, imposed the easiest fiscal system, and we will do it again now. We will free Albanian citizens and businesses from the terrible burden of taxes. From the black hand of the state which extends into every process and every aspect of their activity, to rob, plunder and oppress them in every way.

We will do everything to provide legal certainty to this country, which today has no justice system. Today, a civil case takes 15 years. This is the greatest punishment. Today, foreign investors cannot invest in Albania, they cannot invest. We are committed to returning the money to the citizen.

The fundamental problem here is the relationship between taxes and citizens, the responsibility of those who use these taxes to the citizens. "So, we will do everything to return these taxes to citizens ," Berisha declared.
