Energy reform, Bozdo: Albanians pay the highest price in Europe

The member of the presidency of the Democratic Party, Eno Bozdo, has declared that the energy reform made by the government of Edi Rama has failed.

Bozdo, in a statement to the media from the blue headquarters, said that the bragging of Rama and his majority, for how many years, the arrest of thousands of heads of families who could not afford to pay for energy, has today ended in failure.

Bozdo said during his statement that Albanians are in third place in Europe for the highest price of electricity.

Statement by the member of the Presidency of the DP, Eno Bozdo:

Do you remember the 'successful' reform in the energy sector? It has been the main word and boast of Rama and his majority, for how many years. Do you remember how hundreds of family members were jailed unable to pay the high price of electricity? How many others ended their lives because they could not afford to pay the bills that Rama himself imposed on the Albanians in 2015.

Rama and his government significantly increased the price of energy in the name of the economic health of the three public enterprises that own the sector: KESH, OST and OSHEE.

In fact, the opposite happened: a decade later, the economic and financial condition of these public companies is catastrophic. It is heavier than in 2015! All three companies, according to the Ministry of Finance's own data, owe the state, that is, the Albanians, nearly 600 million euros!

But it does not end there: only the obligations of the Water-Sewage companies to OSHEE are around 380 million euros. UK enterprises are managed by the local government, which as of 2019 is almost entirely in the hands of the Rilindas.

But there is another and even more worrying data: mutual obligations between public companies and the government are around 1.7 billion euros. An absurd figure, but one that really shows the economic collapse of the energy sector, catastrophic mismanagement, theft and corruption that characterizes the renaissance in this sector as well.

Companies in the sector have been suffering for a decade now, not only from corruption of indescribable levels, but from extreme political militancy. In short, these companies are not only stolen during the day, but also filled with renaissance militants who do nothing but patronize the vote of Albanians.

The vote is bought with the stolen money, and the one who is not bought, is blackmailed.

Therefore, Albania has the second highest energy price in the region, after Montenegro, and among the most expensive in Europe, more expensive than Germany, the Netherlands, etc., if we consider the purchasing power parity. If we include in this calculation the stratospheric price of fuel, the lowest salaries in the region, the fact that 46% of Albanians live in poverty, we get a very clear picture of Rama's vision 'Albania 2030'.

And this vision is Albania impoverished on the edge, tired and without hope, abandoned by the youth and the middle class, it is Albania where industry and agriculture are shrinking at high rates for the first time in 30 years.

In next year's elections, Albanians must vote between Rama's undoing project or our project for a normal Albania, where one lives, works and earns honestly, where crime does not dictate either the government or politics.

Albanians cannot be denied the right to vote and decide for themselves who will lead them. Therefore a technical government would enable some minimum conditions for free elections. The Democratic Party with its program will give Albanians a real way to normalize the country, economy and society.

Together we succeed!
