The fall of the Berlin wall / Berisha: Albania celebrates in a new dictatorship

The head of the DP, Sali Berisha, during the civic gathering, recalled that the fall of the Berlin Wall also inspired Albanians, especially the young people who on July 2, 1990 organized a brave effort against the communist regime, considering it as a "Berlin Wall" of Tirana .

He mentions the role of student youth in the democratic revolution of 1990, which brought the end of the dictatorship and the restoration of political pluralism in Albania, culminating in the victory of the opposition in the elections of March 1992.

He expressed concern that today, after more than three decades, Albania is facing a new form of dictatorship characterized by crime, drugs and corruption. 

Berisha : Undoubtedly, the fall of the Berlin Wall was an inspiration for Albanians as well, but above all an inspiration for young Albanians, who fought an epic battle with the dictatorship on July 2, 1990. The 'Berlin Wall' collapsed in Tirana.

And then, it would be the student youth that would ultimately destroy the dictatorship's efforts to erect and maintain this wall.
In its democratic revolution of 1990, it restored political pluralism in Albania and with free elections the most Stalinist dictatorship in Europe would be overthrown.

That they, in an epic battle, in the wildest conquering regime that the Albanians have known in history, will fulfill the historical mission, will return Albania to the path of democracy, prosperity, integration, to the path of the national interests of the Albanians.
