Sula: Cannabis plantations tripled before the elections

Democratic MP Dashnor Sula said that cannabis plantations tripled before the elections.

Through a post on social networks, Sula emphasized that with drug money, gangs distort the political will of Albanians.

Sula's post:

"Cannabis plantations tripled before the elections.

The Italian anti-mafia in its report for 2024 has found that in Albania the plots planted with cannabis in 2023 tripled compared to the previous year.

108,282 cannabis plants planted in the Albanian territory were documented against 49,201 plants seized a year ago.

Beyond the propaganda with edited tapes distributed to the media, the reality is that drug trafficking is flourishing in Albania.

In these 12 years, this is a recurring phenomenon. Every time there are local elections or before parliamentary elections, agriculture "dies" while drugs flourish.

Now, in fact, not only the lands are enough, but with political protection, even the abandoned state buildings are being filled with cannabis.

Evil has no end in fact. Cannabis trafficking is only a sub-branch of criminal activity. And according to the report of the Italian Antimafia, Albania is one of the most trusted "partners" even for heavy drugs, for cocaine trafficking.

According to the report on the cocaine traffic, the Albanians manage every phase of it, from the purchase in the places of production, transportation, storage, movement in the Dutch and Belgian ports to the arrival in Italy and Europe and then trading in the illegal markets.

Meanwhile, in Albania they find the safest shelter to avoid being accountable to the law and are even more treated as successful businessmen.

With the drug money, with the gangs that have political protection, the political will of the Albanians is also deformed", said Sula.
