Tabaku: The 2025 budget project does not reflect the momentum for reforms that EU integration requires
The chairman of the commission for European Affairs, Jorida Tabaku, stated today that the 2025 draft budget does not reflect a large part of the priorities arising from the country's negotiating position.
During the hearing session in the commission with the Chief Negotiator, Majlinda Dhuka, Tabaku expressed concern regarding the low pace of approximation of the legislation.
"For several years, I have encountered the rhetoric that the alignment of legislation is a priority, but the only change from previous years in this commission, out of 8, 12 acts have been examined. I don't think this is a good pace", said Tabaku.
Tabaku said that he does not see reflected in the budget the momentum for reforms, or the state's standing up for the opening of negotiations.
"Public administration was one of all areas of the first cluster that had the most negative evaluation. The high rate of immigration and many other elements are influencing the public administration", said Tabaku.
Tabaku requested information from the Chief Negotiator if the Albanian government envisages a restructuring of the institutions that manage the EU funds as well as the Brussels Mission, to adapt to the new reality of opening negotiations.
