Theft of IPARD funds, Shehaj: The money did not go to the farmers, but to the

Democratic MP Agron Shehaj is conducting an interpellation with the Minister of Agriculture, Anila Denaj, about the IPARD funds, which have been blocked.

Shehaj said that 33 million euros that were supposed to go to Albanian farmers went into the pockets of the rulers.

"I requested this interpellation that this ministry had the duty to distribute around 200 million euros of free aid as part of the EU's IPARD program. It is 200 million euros that the EU decided to forgive Albanian farmers. 200 million euros from European tax payers to farmers Albanians, to build a greenhouse, to build a guesthouse, to increase their businesses in Albania. Almost 5 years after the start of the process of allocation of funds, the EU discovered that of the 70 million euros that were allocated, 33 million euros were stolen from the majority. Instead of going to the farmers, the money went to the pockets of the rulers.

The government stole the money that was supposed to go to the farmers. Delina Ibrahimaj, Frida Krifca and Ilir Beqaj, the coordinator of IPARD, were in prison today for corruption. A year has passed since the warning and discovery of the scandal, and a few months ago the EU announced the blocking of the program. The EU has asked the government to take action, investigate the mechanisms of theft and identify and punish the thieves of the funds. According to Olaf, 33 million euros were stolen, you have received the report where the findings and abuses of the thefts are , said Shehaj.
