February 20/ Mustafaj: Half of the participants without political colors, Berisha is helping the feeling of protest
The former Foreign Minister of Albania, Besnik Mustafaj, commented on the February 20 protest, where he stated that half of those who participated were citizens disappointed by Edi Rama's government.
Invited to News 24, he said that Sali Berisha, as a historical leader of the Albanian right, has helped the Democratic Party.
"The protest of February 20 was massive. There were not only democrats there, but also other people who think that Edi Rama's government is bad. Half of the protesters were non-political citizens.
Tirana is what makes the protest big, the city and its surroundings. The protest showed us that the demonstration can be held even without Sali Berisha being in charge. The demonstration showed that PD has a functional apparatus, which can be set in motion, without Berisha being on the whistle, which is heard even beyond the mass of the Democrats. Even the union of the group of deputies has served the demonstration. I believe that SPAK is supported by citizens. The protesters support Berisha for his case, but are in favor of SPAK. Berisha's case does not honor SPAK.
In my opinion, Berisha is helping the sense of protest among the Democrats. The anger in the parliament is related to the fact that the Investigative Commissions are not set up, I don't believe it is related to Berisha ", said Mustafaj.
Further, he criticized Lulzim Basha, stating that he is a politician who does not go to the grassroots.
" It seems clear that Enkelejd Alibeaj will be the protagonist of the Electoral Reform Commission. I don't know what his proposals are. I have always wanted Albania to be one area and not many areas.
Lulzim Basha was against having an electoral district. He said that if we decide like this, young men and women will have a hard time entering politics and that only the "old" will win.
This version of Basha seemed to me believable. But Basha now seems to be changing his mind and I have heard him say that he agrees that Albania should be an electoral area.
Among other things, Basha is a politician who does not go to the grassroots. If he thinks that the internationals can bring him to power, he is wrong. I believe that the Albanian society has matured to make its own decisions ", he declared.
