"33 fines against high-level officials" / The President of HIDAACI

The President of the High Inspectorate of Declaration and Control of Assets and Conflict of Interest (HIDAACI), Evgjeni Bashari, has reported today in the Assembly the balance sheet of the institution she leads for 2020.

During her speech, Bashari said that during the inspection of high-level officials, 72 cases were referred to the police and 33 fines were imposed on them. 

She further said that HIDAACI has administered 3769 statements of private entities during 2020, and 238 candidates have been checked for new justice institutions.

Specifically, the High Inspectorate continued the cooperation with the transitional re-evaluation bodies, in order to fulfill the functional tasks as effectively as possible. The process of submitting the complete documentation, together with the detailed reports and for the rest of the re-evaluation subjects to the independent qualification commissions and the IOM, was successfully completed. Also, in fulfillment of the recommendation, in terms of administration of asset declarations for candidate entities in different positions of the system, we have supported the appointment of candidates in this system. We have completed the full control of 238 candidates, including candidates for members of the Constitutional Court, judges of the Supreme Court, candidates for directors in the High Bureau of Investigation,

The control acts together with the files were sent to the KED, the HJC and the HJC. The High Inspectorate has continued with the implementation of the three basic laws for declaration and control of assets, conflict of interest, signaling and protection of whistleblowers. During the reporting year, 3769 declarations of private interests were administered, for which the process of scanning, preliminary control, as well as arithmetic and logical control over the property was performed. 762 subjects were included in the scheme of full control and administrative investigation and 72 cases were referred to the Prosecution, Tax Investigation structures, Police structures. "33 administrative measures have been applied with fines against high-level officials" , said Bashari.
