Activists letter Ursula Von der Leyen: Europe should not act like a 'sleeping beauty' in the face of an anti-democratic regime
Two activists living in the countries of the European Union, Erisa Bajaziti and Iva Grillo, have addressed a letter to the president of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen.
In the letter addressed to the President of the EC, the two activists have narrated the current situation in Albania, starting from the governance of the country to the economic situation of the Albanians.
Activists ask Von der Leyen that people are living in an Albania where the people face the drama of depopulation, the affair of the incinerators or the construction mafia.
Activists say that the EC cannot behave like a 'sleeping beauty' in the face of an anti-democratic regime and a corrupt government that oppresses citizens.
FULL LETTER
Dear Ursula,
Albanian citizens send you this letter...
In short, they want to tell you that "your dear Ed" has drawn you an Albania that does not exist.
In the real Albania, citizens live daily the drama of a biblical depopulation, lack of justice and unparalleled governmental corruption.
In the real Albania, citizens cannot call imaginary incinerators, drug parcels, the corruption affair of the port of Durrës or the intimidation of the media a success.
They cannot even call the destruction of the opposition, the existence of phantom strategic investors, offshore companies or the concrete mafia a success.
Dear Ursula, maybe you don't know, but in 2022, thanks to your "dear Ed", every ordinary Albanian has a spy (the so-called patronage) on his head who monitors and threatens him... whenever necessary.
And like any human being who deserves to be treated with dignity, Albanian citizens cannot enjoy the arrogance and bullying with which "your dear Ed" treats his own people, sometimes using you as a shield.
Dear Ursula, ordinary Albanians are publicly asking you that Europe does not behave like a "sleeping beauty" in the face of an anti-democratic regime and a corrupt government that oppresses its citizens.
Otherwise, the awakening will be painful…for everyone!
