During the book fair in Pristina, - June 2022, in the bustle between the stands, a young, tall and charming man, greeting me warmly, dropped a book in my hand; I looked up, he was laughing freely; I remembered that I had seen it at the last fair, - Tirana 2021, during the presentation of a poet at the Onufri publisher's stand; he was the author of the novel "Blood Drawing", Andreas Dushi; born in 1999 in Shkodër; the novel in question published in 2018, published by Onufri 2018; the gesture, the circumstances, caught my attention and I read the novel "Blood Drawing" .
The plot of the novel, starting from the title, is canonical, but brought from a narrative perspective, "unheard of" in Albanian literature, - at least for me: "When in the house of the suicidal Voc, Vilzani appears, his brother, a an argument arises between him and the sons of the deceased. According to Vilzan, Voci was both a murderer and the murdered, and therefore his family members should be divided into the family members of the murderer and those of the murdered. The latter had the task of taking blood from the former". (Quotes from the novel)
Voci, the main character, without leaving any sign of evidence to his family members - wife Leticia and four sons, - Leka, Lulashi, Leci and Laloshi, for the reasons of suicide; how they, the four sons, found themselves in relation to their father, as his pets or as prodigals, was not difficult; thus, the first, according to this canon, will demand the blood of the father from the second....
This is the skeleton of the fable that, I believe, stimulates the reader's curiosity but also the request in the face of the believable and the unbelievable in art, laid out since Aristotle, who makes poetry more believable than history; in the novel "Blood Taking", the young author manages to save the incredible page by placing the biblical brothers in the background - Abel, Cain...
But the most important aspect of the novel has to do with narrative poetics. In this case, the novel narrative is carried by two pillars: the voice of the narrator and the voice of the rhapsody; each functioning to support the other, make the unbelievable fable believable; the first voice, the narrator's, aware of the difficulties, immediately calls for help the presence of the reader's attention, who, he says silently, "shaking his head"; in this narrative poetics, the author frames details, waits, ambiguity, starting from the title of the novel, - taking blood, - take blood, take, - they were eating together take bread (p.123); the distant presence of incest, spilling blood in Greek-Italian spaces, etc.; many burdens that burden the clarity of the novel flow; similar to the plexus and plexus between them, the characters,

The young author Andreas Dushi is talented; the rhythm, the color of his narrative manages to keep the reader's attention; his sensational, transparent imagination creates atmosphere in harmony with the other components of the discourse; language full of life, color, and cultural, literary formation, which, together, make any youthful manner completely peripheral to be heard at all costs.
