Begaj wants two cars and a new building, they cost €4.4 million

The presidency requires 400,000 euros to buy two vehicles for the Head of State, Bajram Begaj. Ten times higher is the amount of the other request, the one for the construction of a new building that will serve for the administrative staff, reports A2.

The President's staff argues in the request to the Ministry of Finance that the new building will also house an exhibition and a library. 

In the request for additional funds in the next year's budget, the institution headed by the First of the State expresses the need for another 5 million lek to buy vehicles available to the technical-administrative staff of Begaj. 

Since the election of Begaj at the head of the Presidency, the budget of the institution previously headed by Ilir Meta has tripled. From a little more than 253 million ALL in 2023, this year the Presidency had 635.5 million ALL at its disposal. 

The budget for the next three years is expected to be similar, referring to the budget expenditure ceilings. 

The requests of the Presidency, together with the budget for the next year, will first go to the "hands" of the Ministry of Finance, to then go to the government for approval.
