On the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS)", said the ambassador The ambassador of Greece in Tirana, Konstantina Kamitsi, has spoken about the issue of the sea between Greece and Albania, which is expected to be sent to the Hague Court.

In an interview for Panorama TV, Kamitsi said that they are waiting for the preparation of a complete file from the Albanian side through which President Bajram Begaj will be asked to authorize the start of negotiations between the parties.

Regarding the relations between the two countries, Kamitsi said that the last two visits of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis coincide exactly with the start of a new stage.

"The two visits within one month of the Greek Prime Minister to Albania, as well as of the Greek Foreign Minister, undoubtedly mark the beginning of a new era of improving relations between the two countries, proving the will of both sides to resolve all the issues that have remained suspended and the raising of relations to the strategic level that belongs to them. Regarding the issue of the delimitation of maritime zones, there have been diplomatic consultations between the two parties on the details and procedures of how the case will be sent to the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

We expect the Albanian government to complete the procedures for the preparation of a complete file by means of which each will request from the president, as the constitution provides, the authorization to start negotiations between the two parties, the result of which will be the agreement based on the agreement of special for sending pending cases related to the delimitation of maritime zones to the International Court of Justice in The Hague, which will lead to a just solution of the case for both parties, with full respect for the constitutions of the countries and Convention of the Greek United Nations in Albania" , said Kamitsi.
