10th day of protest, citizens return to the square: "The homeland is not

The civic protest has entered its tenth day, as hundreds of citizens gathered again this evening in "Skënderbej" Square, continuing the mobilization that began more than a week ago.

With national flags in their hands and banners with anti-government messages, the protesters have repeated their demands for the cancellation of the project in the Zvërnec protected area, as well as for the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama from power.

The atmosphere in downtown Tirana has been characterized by calls for political change and the protection of the country's natural resources.

The banners held by citizens read messages such as: "Edi Rama resign", "Homeland of Albanians, death to traitors", "Homeland is not for sale".

Participants say that the protest has now gone beyond just the Zvërnec issue and has turned into a broader civic reaction to the government and the way it makes decisions on projects that, according to them, affect the public interest and the country's natural heritage.

As in previous days, organizers have called for peaceful protests and broad citizen participation. After gathering in Skanderbeg Square, protesters are expected to march through the main streets of the capital, continuing to pressure the government to meet their demands.

The tenth day of the protest comes at a time when the debate over the Zvërnec project and the opposition to it have received widespread public attention, while citizens declare that they will continue the rallies until the project is withdrawn and their voices are heard.
