A 1-year-old child from Gaza was brought to Albania last night to receive emergency medical care at the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital in Tirana. The medical evacuation was carried out as part of an international humanitarian effort.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that while the child is being treated in hospital, his family – father, brother and sister – have been accommodated in the refugee center in Babrru.

WHO has thanked Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Albanian Government for facilitating this intervention, also appreciating the contribution of the Minister of Health, Albana Koçiu, the head of the National Center for Medical Emergency, Skënder Brataj, and the Director General of the National Civil Protection Agency, Haki Çako, for their role in this initiative.

This evacuation highlights Albania's commitment to providing assistance to those affected by the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
