The online petition "Rama Out" , which is circulating widely on social networks and aims to remove Prime Minister Edi Rama, has faced strong fluctuations in the number of signatories.

The initiative, which was promoted in parallel with the civic protest that has been taking place for 9 days in Tirana and other cities in the country, initially counted around 395 thousand signatures.

However, just a few hours later, the number of supporters grew at an unusual pace, initially rising to 1,055,595 and then reaching 1,731,895 signatures.

According to a notice published on the platform, the petition has been the subject of a massive attack by automated traffic generated by bots, which has directly affected the number of registered signatures.

"The petition was hit by a large wave of automated bot traffic. The attack lasted approximately two days before it was fully identified. At first, the traffic appeared to be normal signing activity, but we later found invalid and suspicious data in the database," the published explanation states.
