Gjirokastër/ A laboratory for the forgery of documents is found, 8 in handcuffs

A laboratory that served for the forgery of documents is found in Gjirokastër.

Also, the police announce that a criminal group that falsified documents was hit and 8 members of this organization were arrested.

According to the police, it is suspected that during the years 2023 and 2024, they carried out the criminal activity of providing assistance for illegal crossing of the border and falsification of documents, against profit.

"The laboratory, a significant amount of money, vehicles and other illegal items that were used for the exercise of criminal activity were seized.

Previously, during the development of this operation, 2 Iranian citizens were also arrested in the act.

The Directorate for the Investigation of Narcotics and Trafficking, in cooperation with the Directorate of the Special Operational Force, in the Criminal Police Department, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Gjirokastër, as a result of a 9-month investigation with special methods, successfully completed the coded police operation "No chance".

As part of this operation, the security measure "Arrest in prison" was executed for 8 citizens.

Security measures have been set by the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Gjirokastër, for the criminal offenses "Aiding illegal border crossing", "Forgery of documents", "Forgery of forms, stamps and seals" and "Exercise of influence" illegal to persons exercising public functions".

The security measure "Arrest in prison" has been executed for citizens:

AH, 32 years old, resident of Tepelena;
MD, 40 years old, resident of Fier;
FP, 56 years old, resident of Konispol;
MH, 40 years old, resident of Tepelena;
Y. Sh., 56 years old, resident of Gjirokastra;
AS, 54 years old, resident of Gjirokastra;
J. Ç., 51 years old, resident in Gjirokastër;
NT, 52 years old, resident of Gjirokastër.

These citizens are suspected to have committed the criminal activity of providing assistance for illegal crossing of the border and falsification of documents, in return for profit, during the years 2023 and 2024," the police announced.
