Accused of corruption, Beqaj in trouble with SPAK laboratory: It is unknown if

In the next court session for the file known as "Sterilization", former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, has challenged the validity of the digital evidence presented by the prosecution, requesting its exclusion from the process.

During his speech in court, Beqaj raised doubts about the laboratory used to examine this evidence, claiming that it was not made clear whether it had the necessary accreditation. According to him, despite repeated requests from the defense, no official response has been given on this issue.

"I have doubts about the SPAK laboratory. The SPAK laboratory does not have accreditation, or if it does, it does not show it. Three times my lawyer has asked if the laboratory is accredited. BKH says, this belongs to SPAK. SPAK has not responded ," he said.

The former minister also questioned the validity of some computer programs used by investigators. In conclusion, Beqaj requested the dismissal of the criminal proceedings against him, stating that he had not committed any illegal act and that there was no theft in this case.

"Digital evidence should be excluded. I request that "Annex 5" be excluded as evidence, since it is a letter without a signature, without a stamp. It cannot even be called a document, let alone evidence. In the draft of the new Criminal Code, there is a definition of "theft". The article of the criminal code in communism has no definition. Such ones continued even after. The best definition is in the code of the time of Zog. In 18 criminal codes of foreign countries, which I have brought to you, they have a definition of theft. As a minister, I neither accept an invoice nor sign a payment. The law does not specify what constitutes wrongful behavior. I request the dismissal of the criminal case. I did not steal. Neither did Ilir Rrapaj steal ," he added.
