In 2021, a small child was diagnosed with AIDS after being treated at the Pediatric Hospital of Tirana.

The child's father, in a telephone connection with the MCN studio, recounted his son's ordeal in hospitals from birth until the family's departure from Albania.

"Our son was born in the Queen Geraldine hospital in 2021. Totally healthy because we are not carriers. He was hospitalized for pneumonia, five days after birth. He was cured there for five days. The condition after discharge was satisfactory. But again in At the end of November, he got pneumonia again. We were not aware of what was waiting for us. His condition was not good even after leaving the hospital In December, he started having diarrhea and he said it was temporary. In January 2022, the first complications started. The doctor who followed him gave us no change the discharge sheet. The boy got worse and at the end of January he was only aggravated and in February he went to intensive care. The doctor did the HIV test and on March 3rd, I get the bombshell news that the boy has been infected with HIV-AIDS. The blow was extraordinary, we know our family life.

The boy spent most of his time in the hospital. We have no memories outside of that hospital. I have asked for the report several times and it has not been given to me. The case is in the prosecutor's office. We lost a prosecutor who blocked our case for a year. Now the case has a new prosecutor.

My son's life has completely changed. We are in a foreign country. We had everything in Albania. We were forced to leave because of the catastrophic health system ," he said. 
He said that in the country where he has moved, therapy is free. Meanwhile, in the hospital where he is being treated, there are two other children infected under the same circumstances.

"The boy is in therapy. Although he lives a normal life, the therapy continues until the last day. The treatment the boy is taking is 2,500 euros per month. Here we are, it is free. Albania not only harmed our son, but abandoned us in between the four roads, without any help. At least an apology for what happened.
