A Serbian citizen, Dushan Jovicic, 41 years old, was arrested at the border point of Morina.

Jovicic was sentenced by the Serbian court to 9 years in prison for the production and sale of narcotics. His extradition to Serbia is expected.

"The Border Police Services, in addition to the implementation of the agreement on free movement between Albania and Kosovo, have increased their vigilance to fight illegalities at the border, as well as to stop citizens who are flagged as wanted and try to enter or leave this border check point.

In this context, in cooperation with the services of DVP Kukës and as a result of the detailed interview and exchange of information between Interpol Tirana and counterparts in Serbia, Serbian citizen Dushan Jovicič, 41 years old, was detained at the entrance to Albania, with the aim of extradition to Serbia .

He was declared internationally wanted, after the Kraljevo Basic Court sentenced him to 9 years in prison for the production and sale of narcotics.

At the end of the actions, the Sector for the Investigation of Crimes in DVP Kukës, made the provisional arrest of this citizen, in order to extradite him to Serbia. The procedures for the extradition of the 41-year-old to Serbia are continuing" , according to the police announcement.
