Kreshnik Farruku, known as the leader of the "Farruku" criminal clan, was arrested last night by order of SPAK. Farruku, who was under "house arrest" after surrendering to the Durrës police on January 6, is now in custody, fulfilling the Italian justice's request for extradition.

He surrendered to the police accompanied by his defense lawyer, after being declared internationally wanted on drug trafficking charges.

Who is Kreshnik Farruku?
Also known as Kreshnik Budlla, Besnik Farruku and Sokol Koçi, he has been sentenced by the Court of Ancona in Italy to 6 years and 8 months in prison on drug trafficking charges.

Authorities continue investigations into the activities of the clan and its international associates, while Farruk's extradition to Italy is expected to help fully uncover the network's criminal activity.

The "Farruku" clan and criminal activities
. Formed mainly by Albanians, the "Farruku" clan has been identified by authorities since 2008 for involvement in house robberies, cocaine trafficking, and other serious crimes.

In 2019, Kreshnik Farruku was arrested in Madrid based on a European arrest warrant issued by Italian justice in 2018. Spanish police operations linked him to a series of robberies and drug trafficking on the Costa del Sol, while the Civil Guard describes him as one of the leaders of an important criminal network.
