Former agent McGongial shareholder of a business in Tirana, how he lobbied for the hydrocarbon concession
Former FBI agent Charles McGongial is in the attention of the public and the media in Albania because of the connections that were revealed to him with Prime Minister Edi Rama. More details are constantly emerging from this case.
The former FBI agent is the administrator of a law firm called "Law Office and Investigation", currently suspended and has 25% of the shares.
The other shareholders in this business are Shefqet Dizdari and Agron Neza. The latter is mentioned as person A in the file of the former senior FBI official and is suspected to be one of the two lobbyists used by Rama.
"Law Office and Investigation" is a company registered in 2008 by Shefqet Dizdari, a lawyer from Tropoja, who in 2019 sold shares to the former senior FBI official Mc Gonigal, Agron Neza and another foreign citizen , under the name Mark Thomas Rossini.
In 2018, the Ministry of Energy announced the winner of the concession of three oil fields in the south of Albania, the company "Transoil Group AG". On March 31, Transoil Group AG was announced as the winner among the nine participating international companies.
The data show that "Transoil Group AG" in Albania was administered precisely by Shefqet Dizdari. This company had business ties with the Russian gas production giant, Gazprom, a company that is majority-owned by the Russian state.
Charles McGonigal allegedly took bribes from Agron Neza to influence the granting of a large hydrocarbon concession to a company managed by Shefqet Dizdari, who later became a business partner with the above characters.
