Corruption at the University of Elbasan, the police react: Six lecturers

The police of Elbasan has successfully completed the police operation coded "Teza," which led to the arrest of six lecturers and a mediator, who are accused of abuse of office and corruption.

According to the authorities, these people allegedly accepted sums of money to help a 31-year-old student pass the exams illegally.

The operation was organized by the specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, after a report made to the Prosecution of Elbasan by journalists of an investigative show.

During the inspection, the student's exam theses were also found and seized, which were prepared irregularly to guarantee her passing.

The arrested are: MH, 49 years old, BG, 58 years old, FT, 56 years old, A. Sh., 61 years old, OB, 50 years old, ZG, 37 years old, and the broker GH, 59 years old, who allegedly accepted the money to submit to the lecturers. Meanwhile, another teacher, EG, 51 years old, has been announced as wanted.

This case raises concerns about the integrity of the education system and the phenomenon of corruption in Albanian auditoriums.
