Kosovo tightens measures, Kukës people protest in Morina: We are waiting for the customs to be removed, they are getting the vaccine
The Government of Kosovo has imposed new measures at border crossing points due to the increase in Covid-19 infections. All persons entering the territory of Kosovo must have the third dose of the vaccine.
Many citizens from Kukës have protested at the Morina border crossing, demanding a review of measures in order to facilitate movement.
"We are waiting for the customs to be abolished altogether, they are giving us a vaccine, the second, the third, the fourth. There are infections in Kosovo as well, but Kosovo is coming to us ", said one of the citizens. "We are border guards. "Or block it and close it as it was then," said another.
The protesters tried to block the road to stop the entry into Albania, while the police intervention neutralized the situation.
We recall that the citizens of Northern Macedonia also reacted harshly to the new measures imposed by the Kosovo government, in the framework of anti-Covid measures. They stated that they could not be informed as the decision was made very quickly.
