Naim Smakiqi is the Albanian who will run for deputy in the October 22 parliamentary elections in Switzerland.
The Albanian from Abria e Poshtme e Skenderaj was selected among 18 candidates of the Socialist Party, to represent the party in the Parliament of Switzerland.
At the party congress, held in Assens in the canton of Vaud, Smakiqi was elected to represent the party at the extraordinary meeting of 400 delegates.
Smakiqi has been engaged in politics for a long time. He is also a Municipal Councilor in Renens.
Naim Smakiqi previously worked in the naturalization commission in Switzerland, while his wife has a non-governmental organization that deals with the integration of Albanian girls and women in this country.
