The municipality's car at the husband's disposal, "Piranhas" take Anuela Ristanin to SPAK

The investigative show 'Piranjat' has filed a lawsuit with SPAK for abuse of office and defamation against the acting mayor of Tirana, Anuela Ristani.

Ristani was caught red-handed by the 'Piranaj', after the latter discovered that the husband of the acting mayor of Tirana was driving a Tirana Municipality car to go to work at the Presidency.

But, after the publication of the investigative show, Ruistani leveled accusations against the 'Piranhas', calling them "persecutors", "blackmailers" and "fine-takers".

Piranha's full statement:

Today, the Piranhas filed a lawsuit with SPAK against the acting mayor of Tirana, Anuela Ristani, for abuse of office and defamation.

The accusation of abuse of office is certainly an obligation towards the public interest that the Speaker must represent, while the accusation of defamation is related to her labeling of the Piranhas as "persecutors", "blackmailers" and "fines".

It is our professional obligation to follow through on these accusations to uncover the truth, to prove to the public what is hidden behind them, whether it is the victimization of a politician or an attempt to silence the investigative media.

We also believe that this is a new standard, perhaps necessary, for all television or print media.

We encourage colleagues to be prepared to defend themselves legally and to substantiate any of their investigations.

Only in this way can we break out of the vicious political-media circle of Albania's chaotic reality of recent years.
