The 23-year-old mother, Ile Gjuni, who reported her 3-year-old son as missing, reacted after taking the little boy who was kidnapped by his grandparents.

Gjuni, through tears, thanked the police and the media for reporting the case. The mother said that she had experienced the situation very badly and that the boy is now in safe hands.

"The boy is very well, in safe hands. I don't know where they kept it. I experienced it very badly. Thank you to everyone, the Durrës police and the media," she told reporters.

Asked if she would allow the grandparents to take the child again, she said: "The state and the prosecution, the court know."
