British minister: Albanians should be denied the right to seek asylum

The British Minister of Emigration, Robert Jenrick, has declared that Albania is a safe country and that Albanians should be excluded from the right to seek asylum.

"Albania is an apparently safe country. It is very difficult to see how an Albanian should be able to successfully seek asylum here in the UK" , he said .

This statement comes at a time when Britain is considering the possibility of a quick return of Albanians. The authorities there want complaints about the refusal of asylum to be made after they have returned the Albanians to their country.

A few days ago, the British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, had a telephone conversation with his counterpart, Edi Rama, where they discussed ways to curb immigration.

Albanians make up over a third of the 33,000 migrants arriving through the English Channel during the first nine months of this year.
