Zegjide Çaushi's clash with the influencer, Rozana Radi reacts: MPs should set an example, not bully

Zegjide Çaushi's clash with the influencer, Rozana Radi reacts: MPs

The harsh, remote replies between Socialist MP Zegjine Çaushi and influencer Dea Mishel Hoxha have also brought new reactions on social media.

After the insults that the MP directed at the influencer yesterday, the famous singer Rozana Radi also reacted, publicly coming to Dea Mishel's defense.

Through a reaction on Instagram, Radi criticized the language used by the MP towards the influencer and demanded that the public debate be based on arguments and not on personal attacks.

" I am addressing you not to defend a specific person, but to defend a principle that should belong to all of us: respect for human dignity," she writes.

Rozana Radi's reaction comes after Zegjine Çaushi responded to Dea Mishel with offensive comments on social media, after the latter had criticized Prime Minister Edi Rama and mentioned the MP as a negative example for young girls.

According to the singer, a representative of the Assembly should show greater prudence and responsibility in public communication.

"You are a member of the Albanian Parliament. The position you hold requires more prudence, more responsibility and more example. The young girls who follow you should see in you a woman who faces criticism with arguments, not a public figure who uses photographs to put another girl in the game ," Radi says.

Rozana Radi's reaction:

Dear Mrs. Zegjine,

I am addressing you not to defend a specific person, but to defend a principle that should belong to all of us: respect for human dignity.

You may disagree with Dea Micheli. You may object to her opinions, positions, or criticisms. That is your right. But when the debate shifts from argument to mockery of physical appearance, the meaning of any public discussion is lost.

You are a member of the Albanian Parliament. The position you hold requires more prudence, more responsibility and more example. The young girls who follow you should see in you a woman who faces criticism with arguments, not a public figure who uses photos to make fun of another girl.

I want to live in an Albania where women don't attack women for their appearance. In an Albania where free thought is not punished with bullying. In an Albania where MPs inspire citizenship and a culture of debate, not contempt and insults.

Because a girl's teeth, face, or appearance are not a political argument. They don't make anyone less valuable or less worthy of being heard.

A healthy democracy is measured by how critical voices are treated, not by how they are silenced or humiliated.

With respect, Rozana Radi.
