Teenager stabbed in high school, 18-year-old arrested

Mati police have arrested 18-year-old Donald Lepuri, who a day earlier stabbed 17-year-old Alban Gjonaj at the Baz village high school.

Police say the 18-year-old was arrested for the criminal offenses of "Intentional Serious Injury" and "Unlicensed Production, Possession, Purchase or Sale of Cold Weapons."

It is learned that 17-year-old Alban Gjonaj, who was transported by helicopter to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, continues to be under the care of doctors, out of danger to his life.

Meanwhile, sources indicate that the "Gjergj Kastrioti" Unified High School in Baz, with 96 students, has no security officer, nor psychologists.

Police notification

The 18-year-old who injured a 17-year-old with a cutting tool yesterday at the Baz village high school has been arrested.

The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Mat Police Commissariat, at the conclusion of the investigative actions carried out under the direction of the Dibra Prosecutor's Office, to shed light on the incident that occurred yesterday, in the sports environment of the high school in the village of Baz, arrested in flagrante delicto the citizen DL, 18 years old, resident of Laç, for the criminal offenses of "Intentional serious injury" and "Unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons".

This citizen is suspected of having injured a 17-year-old with a knife after a brief conflict, who continues to be under the care of doctors, in a non-life-threatening condition.
